The Toronto Maple Leafs will face a challenging game against the Tampa Bay Lightning with Korbinian Holzer in the lineup instead of Stephane Robidas, as TSN’s Jonas Siegel reports.
Siegel points out that this is the third time Toronto made Robidas, 37, a healthy scratch. It’s also another instance in which the team held out the physically battered blueliner from the end of a back-to-back set.
One can understand the Maple Leafs trying to preserve Robidas, although if this is a sign that they’re not happy with what he can offer, they’re stuck with his $3 million cap hit through 2016-17 since his deal is a 35+ contract.
