NHL postpones ‘Canes-Flyers game due to winter storm

The National Hockey League has postponed its second game in as many weeks due to inclement weather.

Tonight’s Hurricanes-Flyers game -- set to be played at Wells Fargo in Philadelphia -- has been postponed due to a winter storm hitting the area, the league announced. The development comes just 12 days after the NHL was forced to postpone the Jan. 9 ‘Canes-Sabres game because of hazardous weather conditions in the Buffalo area.

No word yet on when the ‘Canes-Flyers game will be replayed. The ‘Canes-Sabres game has already been rescheduled for Feb. 25, which was originally supposed to be the final day of the league’s Olympic break.

According to the ‘Canes website, the team will stay in Philly tonight and travel to Buffalo tomorrow for a Thursday game against the Sabres. No word yet on the Flyers’ plans.
