Police: Voynov punched, kicked and choked wife

Slava Voynov’s preliminary hearing on charges of domestic violence began Monday, featuring graphic testimony from a Redondo Beach police officer.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the officer testified that Voynov’s wife said she was struck in the face, pushed to the ground and kicked repeatedly.


Officer: Voynov pushed her into flat-screen TV where she cut her face.

At Voynov’s home, the officer noted blood all over bedroom, including covering comforter and a bloody handprint on floor.

The officer also testified that Voynov’s wife had “bruising, red marks, scratches” on her neck, and was given eight stitches to close a three centimeter cut above her right eye.Here’s what the defense -- which features Pamela Mackey, the lawyer that represented Kobe Bryant during his sexual assault case -- has unveiled during cross-examination of the officer thus far, per the OC Register:

The Times also reports that two interviews were conducted with Voynov’s wife the night of the incident, both of which were recorded:
