Video: ‘Passion for scoring’ still there for Ducks’ Selanne
Who says hockey is a young man’s game?
Teemu Selanne, at the age of 42, scored the winning goal for the Anaheim Ducks in their 3-1 Game 1 victory over the visiting Detroit Red Wings.
As per a tweet from L.A. Times reporter Lisa Dillman, this is what Ducks’ goalie Jonas Hiller had to say about his teammate, Selanne, following the game: “He has so much passion for hockey. He’s a natural born goal scorer. He always tries new things, even in practice.”
This is how Selanne summed up his enjoyment of the goal: “When you have a passion for scoring goals, it doesn’t matter who old you are,” he told NHL.com. “Maybe the celebrations go down a little bit, but inside it’s the same feeling.”
