Watch Chloe Kim’s Super Bowl commercial

f7OS_MUfWwBG
Chloe Kim and her father Jong-Jin embody the story of an American immigrant family. Watch her at the 2018 Winter Olympics beginning Feb. 8 on NBC, and catch the ad on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 4.

Chloe Kim was on a snowboard by age 4, competing at age 6 and winning junior nationals at 7. Her father has since been there just about every step of the way.

Jong-Jin Kim, who was born in South Korea and moved to the U.S. to pursue an engineering degree at Cal State Long Beach, quit his job when his daughter was 8 to support her riding.

He drove her six hours to Mammoth Mountain, Calif., each weekend so she could train, forming a makeshift bed for her in their SUV.

Kim became a halfpipe prodigy, qualifying for the Olympic team four years ago at age 13. She was too young to go to Sochi, though.

Kim followed that by winning three of the last four X Games titles. She is the only woman to land back-to-back 1080s, making her the PyeongChang favorite among a possible U.S. medal sweep.

U.S. Olympian commercials that will air during Super Bowl LII (NBC, Sunday, 6:30 p.m. ET) are debuting every weekday this week.

Monday: Mikaela Shiffrin
Tuesday: Nathan Chen
Wednesday: Lindsey Vonn
