The International Ski Federation decided to postpone Thursday’s training session for women’s downhill after three skiers complained about a dangerous jump and one - Italy’s Daniela Merighetti - hurt her knees upon landing.
(You can see Merighetti grimacing from that leap in this post’s main image.)
“You feel like you’re never going to come down,” Laurenne Ross told NBCOlympics.com.
The training run was moved to the afternoon in Sochi so the jump can be fixed.
Merighetti, 32, fumed about the jump nonetheless.
“I’m upset they didn’t have more expert forerunners,” Merighetti said. “They would’ve known not to send us down.”
