Canadian skier Dara Howell backed up her words in saying that her country would have a chance to dominate the first Olympic ski slopestyle events by advancing to the final round, but fellow Canadian contender Kaya Turski fell short.
On the other side of the North American rivalry, three U.S. skiers made it to the final round, which begins at 4 a.m. ET. Devin Logan, Julia Krass and Keri Herman were among the 12 who are in the running for a medal.
Howell’s countrywoman Kim Lamarre had the second-best score in the qualifying round with an 85.40 mark, so it’s not all on Howell to justify those claims.
