The Olympic experience for the U.S. men’s water polo team hasn’t exactly been a positive one, as their 8-5 loss to Montenegro eliminated them from medal contention.
Sunday afternoon they’ll look to finish group play on a positive note, but that will be tough as an Italian team tied for first in Group B is the opposition. After winning their first three matches Italy lost to Croatia 10-7 Friday, so this match will be important for them in regards to positioning in the quarterfinal round. Valentino Gallo and Francesco Di Fulvio are two of the players the U.S. will need to keep in check.

Driver Josh Samuels has scored four goals in the last two matches for the U.S., with three coming in their 6-3 win over France. He, Alex Bowen and Bret Bonanni will need to be productive Sunday if they’re to knock off the Italians.
