The Titans have high hopes for DE Pannel Egboh after the former practice squadder impressed in training camp and practices last season.
“We think he has a lot of upside,” coach Mike Munchak said. “He may be very interesting, someone people don’t know much about, but someone we feel gives us some great depth and can maybe step up this year. He’s got good size, good movement and he’s shown some good pass-rush ability in practice.”
  • TEN Linebacker #91
Titans LE Derrick Morgan continues to split first-team reps with Pannel Egboh.
It’s a bad sign that Morgan, the No. 18 overall pick in 2010, can’t separate from a guy who has spent the last three seasons on practice squads. Egboh started the Titans’ preseason opener last week. It’s possible that Morgan will end up as a pass-rushing specialist while the bigger Egboh gets the early-down reps.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #96
    Titans re-signed DE Pannel Egboh.
Egboh, who has bounced around practice squads throughout his career, was waived by the Titans after Week 1. He’s back thanks to Keyunta Dawson’s season-ending hamstring injury.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #96
    Titans waived DE Pannel Egboh.
A practice-squad journeyman, Egboh was used as motivation to light a fire under former first-rounder Derrick Morgan this summer. After being talked up a potential starter, Egboh didn’t see the field in Week 1. Morgan played nearly 90 percent of the defensive snaps.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #96
    Jaguars signed DE Pannel Egboh.
Egboh participated in this week’s minicamp on a tryout basis, and he apparently impressed. The 27-year-old appeared in six games for the Titans last season, registering two tackles. He has mainly been a practice squad body in his career.
  • HOU Linebacker
Texans signed LB Darnell Bing, DE Pannel Egboh, C Brett Helms, DE Jesse Nading, and OG Adam Stenavich to futures contracts.
Only Nading spent time on the active roster in 2009, finishing with zero tackles in one appearance. Bing continues to struggle in his conversion from college safety to NFL outside linebacker. He’s been doing it for four years.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #96
Eagles signed DL Pannel Egboh to their practice squad.
Egboh was claimed by the Eagles off waivers in late August but cut four days later. The team had an open spot on the practice squad with Chad Hall being added to the active roster last week.
  • PHI Running Back
Eagles waived RB J.J. Arrington, WR Dobson Collins, DE Pannel Egboh, TE Nate Lawrie, and OT Jeraill McCuller.
Don’t to be so quick to declare the Broncos the winners of the Arrington-Joe Mays trade. The Eagles will now receive a 2012 sixth-round pick from Denver since Arrington didn’t make the roster.
  • ARI Defensive Back
Texans waived CB Fred Bennett, DE Pannel Egboh, and WR London Crawford.
They’re down to 77 players, and will have to waive two more to get to the 75-man limit by Monday. Bennett was a 14-game starter during the 2007 and 2008 seasons and is only 26 years old. He might generate interest on waivers.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #96
Eagles claimed DE Pannel Egboh off waivers from the Texans.
Egboh could perhaps earn a look for the Eagles’ practice squad if he shines in the exhibition finale. Either way, he’ll be among Saturday’s final cuts.
