Kivlehan signed a minor league contract with the White Sox back in February and appeared in just three games with Triple-A Charlotte before being released last week. For what it’s worth, he tallied a whopping five hits, including a pair of homers, in those three games. The 32-year-old journeyman outfielder will head back out to the free agent market in search of a new opportunity.

Kivlehan appeared in just five games at the major-league level last season with the Padres. The 32-year-old outfielder spent the majority of the year at Triple-A El Paso where he registered a pedestrian .261/.316/. 532 triple-slash line with 21 homers in 364 plate appearances. He’ll give the White Sox some additional organizational outfield depth entering the 2022 campaign.

Kivlehan reached base in four of eight plate appearances during his brief time with the big club.

Kivlehan will provide some much-need position player depth for the Padres as they battle a COVID-19 outbreak on the major league roster. The 31-year-old is a career .208/.302/.401 hitter in the bigs.

Kivlehan played five games for San Diego in 2016 and has a .208/.302/.401 slash line over 242 career plate appearances. The 31-year-old will serve as organizational depth for the Padres.

Kivlehan is the player here with major league experience; he hit .208/.302/.401 in 242 PA with the Padres, Reds and Diamondbacks from 2016-18. He could be an option for the Jays’ bench if enough players open up on the IL.

Kivlehan, who was acquired from the Pirates back in May, slugged 32 homers with a .255/.339/.532 batting line over 125 games between Double- and Triple-A this past season. He turns 30 later this month and hasn’t received much of a shot in the majors since 2017 with the Reds.

Kivlehan has hit just .212/.287/.412 with four homers at the Triple-A level this season. The 29-year-old is merely organizational depth.

The Pirates signed Kivlehan to play in Triple-A, and his big spring (.370, 2 HR in 27 AB) probably won’t change his fortunes. His best hope would be if the Pirates decided to cut Melky Cabrera, something that could be a consideration with Gregory Polanco making steady progress.
