BOBBY JACKSON JOINS COMCAST SPORTSNET CALIFORNIA AS SACRAMENTO KINGS STUDIO ANALYST

Former Kings and NBA Standout to Serve as Analyst for

“Kings Pregame Live” and “Kings Postgame Live”

Jackson to Contribute to “SportsNet Central,” “Yahoo SportsTalk Live,”

“Kings Central” and Other NBA Programming

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 20, 2014) – Comcast SportsNet California (@CSNAuthentic), the exclusive local television home of Sacramento Kings basketball, today announced that popular Kings alumnus and 12-year NBA veteran Bobby Jackson (@TheBobbyJackson) has joined the network as a Kings studio analyst. Jackson will provide analysis and commentary on Comcast SportsNet’s signature programs Kings Pregame Live and Kings Postgame Live, as well as, SportsNet Central, Yahoo SportsTalk Live, Kings Central and other NBA programming. The announcement was made by Chris Olivere, Senior Director of News, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and Comcast SportsNet California.

Olivere said: “Bobby is a beloved Sacramento basketball icon who brings tremendous acumen and a credible voice to Comcast SportsNet. His lifelong experience as a player and coach, along with his insight and distinctive perspective on the game, will further enhance the network’s comprehensive Kings coverage.”

Jackson added: “I am thrilled to join Comcast SportsNet’s Kings broadcast team and to share my thoughts and the knowledge of the game that I gained through my experiences as a collegiate and professional player and coach. I look forward to offering my basketball insight and commentary to the many passionate Kings fans across the Sacramento region.”

Jackson played six of his 12 NBA seasons with the Kings. A key member of Minnesota’s Golden Gophers 1997 Final Four team, he was drafted by the Seattle Sonics (now Oklahoma City) with the 23rd overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft and then traded to Denver on the night of the Draft. Jackson played for six teams in his NBA career: Denver, (1997-98), Minnesota (1998-99 - 1999-00), Sacramento (2000-01 - 2004-05, 2008-09), Memphis (2005-06), New Orleans (2006-07 -2007-08), and Houston (2007-08). His best season came in 2002-03 when he earned the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award. Following his retirement, Jackson spent the 2009-10 season as the Kings’ first-ever Ambassador. As the team Ambassador, he represented the Kings throughout the Sacramento region, engaging with fans, promoting the team and making frequent appearances in the community to support the organization’s initiatives. Jackson was an assistant coach with the Kings during the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. Last season, he was as a player development coach for the Timberwolves.

The Kings regular season gets underway on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet California as the Kings host the Golden State Warriors. Kings Pregame Live, Kings Postgame – In addition to live game coverage, Comcast SportsNet California debuts the region’s most comprehensive pre- and post-game analysis with Kings Pregame Live and Kings Postgame Live. Prior to the game, Kings Pregame Live features a breakdown of the evening’s match-up, interviews with coaches and players, the latest team developments and a look at the other games around the NBA. Immediately following the game, viewers of Kings Postgame Live can look forward to complete game analysis with stats and highlights, locker room interviews and a preview of the next match-up. Kings Pregame Live and Kings Postgame Live are anchored by Guy Haberman (@GuyHaberman) with analysis from Kings legend Bobby Jackson and Kings Insider Bill Herenda (@billherenda).

Throughout the 2014-15 NBA season, Yahoo SportsTalk Live will feature NBA experts and a number of special guests from the Kings, including regular appearances by Insiders Bill Herenda and Ray Ratto.

Kings Central – Each month of the 2014-15 season, Kings Central – a monthly half-hour magazine-style show – will give fans an inside look at the Kings both on and off the court. Hosted by Kayte Christensen, Kings Central will feature interviews with players, coaches and members of the front office, behind-the-scenes footage, exciting game highlights and more.
