STAMFORD, Conn. – Sept. 26, 2026 – NBC Sports continued its coverage of Day 3 of the 2026 Presidents Cup at historic Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Ill., on NBC and Peacock with the afternoon foursomes session. The International team leads the U.S. team 10½ - 7½ heading into tomorrow’s singles matches beginning at Noon ET on NBC and Peacock. The teams split the afternoon foursomes session (2-2).
Calling the action is NBC Sports’ 2026 Presidents Cup broadcast team of play-by-play commentator Dan Hicks, who has called every Presidents Cup since 2000, commentator Terry Gannon, and analysts Kevin Kisner, who has been a part of the Presidents Cup twice as a player (2017, 2022) and once as an assistant captain in 2024, Brad Faxon, Notah Begay III, and Paul McGinley. On-course reporters include Jim “Bones” Mackay, who has caddied in or commentated at every Presidents Cup dating back to its inception in 1994, John Wood, who has caddied in or commentated at every Presidents Cup since 2007, and Smylie Kaufman. Captain Brandt Snedeker to Kaufman on the day: “This golf course got really difficult this afternoon. There’s such a fine line between good shots and bad shots… Really proud of how they hung in there today.”
Snedeker to Kaufman on how the team responded to sitting Scottie Scheffler: “Like I said in the beginning of the week, Scottie Scheffler is not going to go out there and win us 15 points. We have to go out there as a team and do this together. I challenged the guys this afternoon to go out there and be that team that we needed them to be. Got Scottie some much needed rest so he can go out there tomorrow and be the Scottie Scheffler that we know he is.”
Chris Gotterup to Banks on the experience: “If I get to hit his (Cameron Young) shots all the time, I’d be pretty good at golf. It’s awesome and has been a lot of fun. He makes it easy. He doesn’t care. He says, ‘hit it and I’ll go find it.’ It was a good morning match and this afternoon, too.”
Cameron Young to Banks on first foursome points and adjusting from four ball to foursome: “Great to get one on the board. It was easy as you could’ve asked to make the transition today. Had the same partner both rounds. We played well this morning and kept going into the afternoon. It was a short turnaround and in a sense, that made it a lot easier.”
Kisner on pairing physical games and personalities: “There’s always a lot of components that go into the matchups. When you find one that works well, you love sending them back out there and putting them right back in the mix. These guys (Cameron Young/Chris Gotterup) seem to gel really well together and have played incredibly this afternoon.”
Hicks on Chris Gotterup’s birdie to win the ninth hole: “Gotterup just loves these moments. He’s proved it in those five wins quickly in his PGA Tour career and he is just showing up at the Presidents Cup.”
Faxon on Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay being paired together 11 times: “You know these guys are best friends. They play almost every practice round together when they’re playing on the PGA Tour events. They know each other’s games but they know their emotions, too. That’s what makes them such a strong team.”
Kaufman on Chris Gotterup’s third shot at the sixth hole: “I hope they don’t make me do that today...He was just nasty. Chipping around this place. It’s just so tight. The grass is cut so short. It’s a little bit wet underneath. To be able to go and try to hit that shot is just bizarre to me.”
Gannon on Russell Henley’s putt for par on the seventh hole: “There’s pressure on these (putts) you’re doing it for yourself, you’re doing it for your partner, you’re doing it for your team, and for your country.”
Begay III on Cameron Young’s eagle to win third hole: “Americans are vibing. Got the crowd behind them. Look at those people back there. Everyone is getting into it. You can hear it.”
Snedeker to Banks on sitting Scottie Scheffler for Day 3’s foursomes: “That was a really tough decision to sit him this afternoon, but I want him to get some rest and be ready for tomorrow with those singles matches.”
Brandt Snedeker to Banks on the United States strategy in Day 3: “We threw a couple of wrinkles in there, obviously going with (Chris Gotterup) and Cameron Young. We’re going to ride them out there. Those guys went out there this morning and smashed it. Scottie (Scheffler) has the weight of the world on his shoulders, carrying Team USA, and it’s time for us to carry him for a session.”
Faxon on Scottie Scheffler sitting out: “The U.S. side rode him in these team matches and he hasn’t performed well in the foursomes side so him sitting out could be a positive. Get some rest, come back and be a big point for tomorrow in the singles.”
INTERNATIONAL TEAM
Corey Conners to Banks on winning a point after being three-down through 10: “No giving up. We knew it was going to be a battle. Gave them a few holes early on. We were both motivated to try and get back on the right side of things. Keep battling away and did a good job of just staying with it, trying to put pressure on them whenever we could. Feels great to get it done.”
Nick Taylor to Banks on his first Presidents Cup experience: “I’m loving it. I love being next to this guy (Corey Conners). What an experience to battle back from three-down through three, through 10. We’ve been relentless all week. That’s been the message through Captain (Geoff Ogilvy).”
Hicks on Corey Conners’ putt for par to win match: “And the Canadian comeback is complete to wrap up this third day of the Presidents Cup. Nick Taylor and Corey Conners come back with the full point, 2-2, in the final team session in the final foursomes. This international side has a lot of momentum and a lot of belief that they an indeed pull off the biggest upset in the history of this Presidents Cup when you look at the teams.”
Kaufman on Nick Taylor’s third shot on the 18th hole: “That was a touch of class from Nick Taylor there. With everybody watching, those are tough shots to make when there’s nobody around. In this situation, that was absolutely clutch.”
Ryan Fox to Banks on winning alongside Min Woo Lee: “It’s been brilliant. We’ve played a lot of golf together since he turned pro in 2020. Traveled around the world together and get a chance to play here in the foursomes...It’s obviously worked pretty well and we’ve had a lot of fun the last couple days and had a lot of good shots when it mattered. Playing with one of your best mates is brilliant and I felt like it showed the last couple of days.”
Min Woo Lee to Banks on the difference from Presidents Cup in Montreal two years ago: “The crowd is different. Not getting cheers for holing puts. It’s a bit different than any tournament, really. We just have to be here for each other. I think that was a big part. It’s mine and his (Ryan Fox) first time playing on an away soil. We had to be there for each other. I felt like I started terribly and he was right there on my back cheering me on. It’s ok and we turned it around which was awesome.”
Hicks on the International Team’s lead: “This has been a big day for them. Going to be an even bigger day tomorrow. They are in a great position to pull off a huge upset.”
Faxon on Si Woo Kim: “One thing that the golf out here this afternoon definitely reinforced for me is that Si Woo Kim is one of the most talented players in the world. He is an unbelievable player to watch on a big stage like this.”
Faxon on Min Woo Lee’s birdie to win seventh hole and tie up the match: “How about that. When you’re out on the course, you hear the noise and also see the scoreboard. For the international team to see something get off of red, that is big motion for these players. They need to get a couple of these matches flipped.”
Ogilvy to Banks on the international team’s confidence: “Obviously, sweeping a session is an incredible result, and everybody has a lot of belief and confidence out of that.”
Ogilvy to Banks on earning a point and a half during the morning four-ball session: “It was incredibly important. The US got off to a great start. They covered the board in red and it looked dire there nine holes in, but the boys rallied. We took a couple matches at the end and we got a point and a half out of a session where we kind of got pretty well beaten.”
