STAMFORD, Conn. – Aug. 4, 2026 – Olympic medalists Jade Carey, Frederick Richard, Hezly Rivera, and Stephen Nedoroscik headline NBC Sports’ live coverage of the 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships from Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Ariz., this week. Live coverage is highlighted this Sunday in primetime with the final day of women’s competition at 7 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, with additional windows of coverage on NBC on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET. Live coverage begins this Thursday, Aug. 6, at 10 p.m. ET on Peacock and NBCSN with the first day of competition featuring the senior men.
On the women’s side, Phoenix native Carey makes her return to the National Championships after not competing during the 2025 season. The 26-year-old is the Tokyo Olympic floor exercise gold medalist and, more recently, was also part of the gold-medal winning team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Carey will face a strong field that is expected to include defending U.S. individual all-around champion and fellow Paris Olympic gold medalist Hezly Rivera, defending U.S. vault champion and reigning world all-around silver medalist Leanne Wong, two-time world team champion Skye Blakely, and 2026 Pan American all-around champion Claire Pease.
The men’s field is led by multiple Olympic medalists, including Stephen Nedoroscik, who won the bronze medal on pommel horse at the Paris Olympics to become the first U.S. man to win an Olympic medal on an individual apparatus since 2016. Paris Olympic team bronze medalist Frederick Richard is also expected to compete, where he will vie for his first U.S. all-around title against a competitive field that includes Tokyo Olympians Yul Moldauer and Shane Wiskus.
NBC Sports’ Terry Gannon will call the action alongside Beijing Olympic team silver medalist Samantha Peszek, Rio Olympic team gold medalist Laurie Hernandez (women’s analysts), 1984 Los Angeles Olympic team gold medalist Tim Daggett (men’s analyst), and three-time U.S. Olympic gymnast John Roethlisberger (men’s/women’s analyst). Britney Eurton will serve as reporter.
Roethlisberger is a four-time U.S. men’s all-around champion (1990, 1992-1993, 1995), while Daggett is the 1986 U.S. men’s all-around champion. Hernandez is the 2015 junior all-around and uneven bars champion, while Peszek earned the silver medal on balance beam at the 2009 edition of the meet.
