STAMFORD, Conn. – Sept. 10, 2026 – The first round of the 2026 SuperMotocross World Championship Playoffs begins this Saturday from Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, at 3 p.m. ET exclusively on Peacock and NBCSN. Pre-race coverage begins at 2:30 p.m. ET on Peacock and NBCSN. An encore presentation will be presented on NBC on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
The fourth annual World Championship Playoffs, in which riders compete in three rounds over the course of three weeks, are headlined by 2026 first-time champions Hunter Lawrence (450MX), Ken Roczen (450SX), Cole Davies (250MX and SX East), and 2026 Supercross 250 West champion and two-time SMX 250 World Champion Haiden Deegan, the latter of whom is competing in his first playoffs on a 450. One notable participant who will not be competing is three-time reigning SMX World Champion Jett Lawrence due to an ankle injury, ensuring that there will be a new premiere class champion for the first time ever in the event’s history.
NBC Sports’ Jason Weigandt will call the race alongside 15-time AMA champion Ricky Carmichael and three-time AMA champion James Stewart. Will Christien and Jason Thomas will serve as reporters.
Carmichael and nine-time AMA Champion Ryan Villopoto preview the SMX playoffs on the latest episode of the Title 24 podcast, which is available here.
Round 2 of the Playoffs will be held at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles, Calif., on Sept. 19, with the World Championship Final held at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale, Mo., on Sept. 26. Further programming details will be released at a later date.
Race Day Live qualifying coverage this Saturday from Historic Crew Stadium gets underway at 9 a.m. ET on Peacock featuring Justin Brayton, Adam Cianciarulo, Haley Shanley, and Steven “Lurch” Scott.
