STAMFORD, Conn. – Sept. 15, 2026 – Five-time All-Star first baseman Pete Alonso and the Baltimore Orioles host three-time All-Star catcher William Contreras and the first-place Milwaukee Brewers at Oriole Park at Camden Yards this Sunday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. ET in the season finale of Sunday Night Baseball. Play-by-play voice Jason Benetti will call Brewers-Orioles alongside former MLB pitchers Ben McDonald and Tim Dillard.
Ahmed Fareed will host the pregame show alongside 2010 NL MVP Joey Votto, who will also provide “Inside the Pitch” commentary from the batter’s perspective during the game.
The Brewers, 93-57, own MLB’s best record and hold the National League’s top playoff seed. Milwaukee is one of just four teams to have already clinched a playoff spot. The Brewers are dominant on the mound, ranking second in the majors in ERA (3.57) and strikeouts (1,433) and tied for third in saves (47). Contreras and Jackson Chourio lead the Brewers’ offense, with Contreras posting a team-best 144 hits and Chourio recording a career high in home runs (23, 2nd on team). The Orioles are just three games behind the Cleveland Guardians for the third and final American League Wild Card berth. Alonso leads the AL in RBI (100), while ranking fourth in the league in home runs (35) and eighth in runs scored (89).
McDonald began his MLB career with the Orioles in 1989, spending seven seasons in Baltimore before a two-year stint with the Brewers (1996-97). He made 211 appearances, including 198 starts, during his nine-season career, compiling 78 wins, 24 complete games, and 894 strikeouts. McDonald joined the Orioles’ broadcast team on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) as an analyst in 2016 and also serves as a college baseball analyst for SEC games and the NCAA Men’s College World Series on ESPN. McDonald will make his first Sunday Night Baseball appearance this weekend.
Dillard debuted with the Brewers in 2008 after winning the organization’s Minor League Pitcher of the Year award in 2005, pitching for Milwaukee in all four of his Major League seasons (2008-09, 2011-12). Across 73 relief appearances and 84.1 innings pitched, he tossed 62 career strikeouts. Dillard joined Milwaukee’s broadcast team in 2021 and is currently in his sixth season as an analyst for Brewers telecasts on Brewers.TV. Dillard will make his second NBC Sports appearance of the season this weekend, following Brewers-Pirates on MLB Sunday Leadoff on July 12.
Votto, a six-time All-Star and 2011 Gold Glove recipient, spent all 17 seasons of his career with the Cincinnati Reds. The former first baseman was named NL MVP in 2010 after leading the league with a .424 on-base percentage, .600 slugging percentage, and 1.024 OPS while batting .324 with 177 hits, 37 home runs, and 113 RBI. Known for his power and patience, the left-handed hitter compiled a .294 career batting average and hit 356 career home runs while leading the NL in on-base percentage seven times. He helped the Reds reach the postseason four times during his career. This weekend marks Votto’s third Sunday Night Baseball broadcast of the season, following Yankees-Phillies on July 26 and Reds-Cubs on Aug. 30.
Major League Baseball and NBC Sports announced the debut of Road to the Show, a new five-episode documentary series providing unprecedented access to six of baseball’s brightest young stars as they navigate the path to professional baseball’s biggest stage.
