The 2026 Royal Meeting marks the 201st year of the first Royal Procession, which began in 1825 under King George IV.

NBC Sports first presented Royal Ascot in 2017, which featured Queen Elizabeth II presenting the Gold Cup trophy after a thrilling race won by Big Orange under jockey James Doyle.

In total, NBC Sports will present nearly 25 hours of coverage over the five days of racing.

Royal Ascot is Britain’s most valuable race meeting and features 35 races, including eight at the world championship “Group One” level. U.S.-based trainers that are expected to have runners at this year’s Royal Meeting include Wesley Ward, Patrick Biancone, George Weaver, and Tom Morley.

The first races in the European portion of the “Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series: Win and You’re In” will be contested at Royal Ascot, headlined by the King Charles III Stakes (G1), a qualifier for the Prevagen Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1); the Queen Anne Stakes (G1), a Challenge race for the FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1); the Prince of Wales’s Stakes (G1), a qualifier for the Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1); and the Norfolk Stakes (G2), which offers a berth into the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1).

The “Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series: Win and You’re In,” is comprised of 95 graded stakes races in 14 countries that award each winner with an automatic starting position and free entry into a corresponding race at the World Championships. Four of the group stakes races at Royal Ascot are Breeders’ Cup Challenge races.
