HSBC Sevens Series Returns to Los Angeles with Matches Held at Dignity Health Sports Park – Future Host Venue of 2028 L.A. Olympics

STAMFORD, Conn. – August 25, 2022 – NBC Sports presents live coverage of the men’s HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series this weekend, when the series makes its return to Los Angeles at Dignity Health Sports Park for the first time since the 2019-2020 season on Saturday, Aug. 27, and Sunday, Aug. 28. Dignity Health Sports Park is an official future host venue for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The HSBC Sevens Series is an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments – which follows the Olympic format of seven players per side – featuring national teams in both men’s and women’s competition. Consisting of 10 tournaments held around the world, national sevens teams compete for series points at each round, culminating with this weekend’s final round in Los Angeles. HSBC LA Sevens is the last stop of the 2021-22 season.

On Saturday, Aug. 27, and Sunday, Aug. 28, NBC Sports will present more than 15 hours of live coverage from Los Angeles, as Peacock will live stream all matches and CNBC presents live afternoon/early evening coverage on Saturday and Sunday.

Participating teams in this year’s HSBC LA Sevens include: USA, Australia, Spain, Argentina, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada, Fiji, Ireland, France, Wales, Samoa, England, Scotland, and Kenya.

Team USA currently ranks sixth in the 19-team standings with 84 points. South Africa, with 124 points, currently sit in first place, followed by Australia (122 points) and Argentina (118 points).
