Person Jr. (6'1/220) came up a yard short of his performance in the upset win over Clemson, but getting a touchdown in a game you win by seven is more important. NC State junior RB Ricky Person Jr. rushed 14 times for 99 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-42 victory over Wake Forest on Saturday.
Person Jr. (6'1/220) is a former top-10 RB prospect out of the 2018 recruiting class. He suffered a major leg injury during the 2018 season that lingered into 2019 causing him to only play in seven games last year and averaging only 3.8 YPC. He reportedly came into camp in great shape, earning a co-starter designation on the team’s initial depth chart. Though NC State rotated three backs through the lineup, Person Jr. received the most carries and produced the most yardage of the group. He also broke a few impressive runs that showed Person Jr. to be fully recovered from his previous ailment. He’ll look to build on his impressive showing next week when the Wolfpack travel to Blacksburg to take on Virginia Tech.

NC State junior RB Ricky Person Jr. was listed as the top running back on the team’s latest depth chart.
While Person Jr. (6'1/220) got the nod as the first listed running back on the Wolfpack’s initial depth chart. However it should be noted that he is technically listed as a co-starter along with Zonovan Knight, Jordan Houston and Trent Penny. The designation is somewhat of a surprise given the fact Person Jr. suffered a serious leg injury in late 2018. The injury lingered into 2019 as Person Jr. only played in seven games recording 61 carries for 229 yards, a 3.8 YPC and three touchdowns. A highly touted high school recruit who ranked as a top-10 RB prospect, Person will get his chance to prove he is healthy against Wake Forest this Saturday.
