Schebler signed a minor league contract with the Rockies back in - and has been released after hitting .243/.307/.411 with seven homers and three steals in 238 plate appearances for Triple-A Albuquerque. The 31-year-old outfielder has appeared in 394 games in the majors since 2015.

Schebler signed a minor league contract with the Rockies earlier this month. The 31-year-old outfielder has logged just 35 total plate appearances at the major league level since the beginning of 2020.

The 31-year-old outfielder struggled in his brief time with the Angels during the 2021 season, hitting just .147 with a cringe-inducing 17/0 K/BB ratio in just 34 plate appearances. The results at Triple-A weren’t much better, as he slashed just .216/.295/.400 in 285 plate appearances. Schebler did smack 30 homers for the Reds back in 2017 though, so perhaps the Rockies are hoping that he can recapture some of that magic in 2022.

Schebler has decided to try to latch on with another organization rather than accept an outright assignment. He went just 5-for-34 during his brief time with the Angels in 2021.

Schebler passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as additional outfield depth for the Angels. He hit just .147 with a hilariously-bad 17/0 K/BB ratio in 34 plate appearances for the Angels.

Schebler spent 14 games with the Halos, and he hit just .147 with five hits in 34 at-bats. Someone might be interested in him as a bench bat, but there’s just as good of a chance he goes unclaimed and reports back to Triple-A Salt Lake after the weekend.

Yes, the Angels have called up an outfielder from Salt Lake. No, it is not Jo Adell. Schebler struggled in a brief stint with the Halos earlier this season but has posted a .878 OPS with eight homers at Salt Lake. He could get a good amount of run in a corner outfield spot with the Angels banged up.

Schebler clears waivers after being designated for assignment. The outfielder will likely report to the Triple-A club, and be organizational depth for the remainder of 2021.

Schebler was 4-for-27 (.148) with 11 strikeouts during his three-week stint on the active roster.

A couple of things to keep in mind. First, Trout was plunked in the elbow earlier in the game on a Cristian Javier pitch, and he looked to be in significant pain. Second, this is a 7-0 game, so it’s possible that the exit is simply precautionary. Either way, there should be an update on Trout’s status shortly. Stay tuned.
