Chiefs waived WR Seantavius Jones, DB Bryce Cheek, DL Niko Davis, OL Curtis Feigt, CB Malcolm Jackson, LB Jonathan Massaquoi, WR Kashif Moore, and C Drew Nowak.
A onetime offseason hype hero in New Orleans, we were actually surprised to learn Jones was on a team. Jones was not a surprise cut in Kansas City.

Chiefs signed WR Seantavius Jones, OG Jordan Devey, QB Joel Stave, OT Joseph Cheek, DB Jimmy Hall, DT Cory Johnson, DE David King, LB Earl Okine, DB Julian Wilson, and FB Will Ratelle to reserve/future contracts.
Jones made some noise a couple training camps ago with the Saints, but he was waived by the Chiefs before final cuts last August. He will get another shot to latch on to the bottom of the roster, but his chances are slim. Devey saw some time on the Chiefs’ active roster this season after starting nine games with the 49ers in 2015.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Chiefs waived/released WR Seantavius Jones, OT Joseph Cheek, WR Gehrig Dieter, K Sam Ficken, CB Trevon Hartfield, OT Donald Hawkins, OT Josh James, WR Tevin Jones, WR Marcus Kemp, OG Damien Mama, LB Justin March-Lillard, LB Earl Okine, OL Mike Person, RB Devine Redding, LB Marcus Rush, CB Larry Scott, WR Tony Stevens, DT Maurice Swain, S Steven Terrell, DT Cam Thomas, OG Andrew Tiller and WR Robert Wheelwright.
Jones always shows up in shorts and t-shirts, but has never made an impact during the regular season. He turned 25 earlier this month.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Saints second-year WR Seantavius Jones appears to be ahead of Brandon Coleman on the depth chart at OTAs.
Prepare yourself for plenty of Jones and Coleman blurbs on Rotoworld over the next few months. They are competing for playing time with Nick Toon behind Brandin Cooks and Marques Colston. 6-foot-3 and 208 pounds, Jones ran 4.53 with impressive vertical (38 1/2") and broad (10'5") jumps before going undrafted in 2014. He’s worth monitoring in a fairly wide-open Saints receiver corps.

ESPN Saints reporter Mike Triplett calls WRs Seantavius Jones and Brandon Coleman “standouts” through OTAs.
Triplett admits he’s in danger of “overhyping” the second-year wideouts, but they’ve caught his attention all spring. The fact that New Orleans didn’t draft a receiver after trading away Jimmy Graham and Kenny Stills lends some credence to Triplett’s observations. Jones and Coleman are fighting for snaps behind Brandin Cooks and Marques Colston. Looking good in pad-less practices is obviously not a bad thing, but it’s August that matters for Jones and Coleman.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Saints WRs Brandon Coleman and Seantavius Jones have been “used a lot with the ones” in OTAs.
ESPN Saints reporter Mike Triplett has called Coleman and Jones players to "(keep) on your radar screen.” Coleman is a massive 6-foot-6, 225 pounds, and ran a 4.56 40-yard dash at last year’s Combine. Targets are there for the taking after Kenny Stills and Jimmy Graham were sent packing.
  • FA Wide Receiver
The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports Saints WR Seantavius Jones remains on the roster bubble.
Jones hasn’t made any noise since being noted as a “standout” at OTAs. He played 24 snaps in the preseason opener and caught 1-of-2 targets for a meager five yards. Jones has fallen behind both Nick Toon and Brandon Coleman in the battle for the Nos. 3 and 4 receiver jobs.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Saints waived WR Seantavius Jones and FB Toben Opurum.
Jones was promoted from the practice squad for Week 1, but played zero offensive snaps. He’ll likely head back to the taxi squad once he clears waivers.
  • FA Wide Receiver
    Saints re-signed WR Seantavius Jones.
Jones will be promoted from the practice squad after getting released during final cuts. He’ll add depth as the No. 5 receiver. Jones could see time on special teams if active.
  • FA Wide Receiver
    Saints waived WR Seantavius Jones.
A second-year UDFA out of Valdosta State, Jones was outplayed by Brandon Coleman throughout training camp and the preseason. Jones has practice squad eligibility and special teams value, so he will likely resurface.
