After injuring his hamstring last week in training, Sanchez stayed with the Chilean national team despite missing their qualifier against Colombia. That angered Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger but obviously Sanchez’s injury wasn’t as bad as first feared.
That’s because the 27-year-old, who is Arsenal’s top goalscorer this season, scored two crucial goals in the second half as Chile beat Uruguay 3-1 as the South American champs got their World Cup qualifying campaign back on track.
