Watford sealed promotion to the Premier League on Saturday, as the Hornets beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 and other results went their way to seal their place in the 2015-16 PL season.

They must wait to win the Championship title, as a point in their last game of the year at home against Sheffield Wednesday next Saturday, or a Bournemouth loss on Monday, will secure the crown.

Remarkably the Hornets have recovered from having four managers in charge in a spell of 37 mad days earlier in the campaign, as current boss and former Chelsea midfielder Slavisa Jokanovic has led the Hertfordshire side to the promised land.

The last time Watford were in the PL was back in 2006-07. In that season they were managed by Aidy Boothroyd and finished in 20th place as they were relegated straight back to English soccer’s second tier. They only other season they have been in the Premier League was back in 1999-00 when they also finished in last place.

Two seasons ago Watford lost in the Championship play-off final to Crystal Palace, but now they are back in the big time.

Former owner and current honorary president Sir Elton John has a stand named after him at Watford’s Vicarage Road stadium and Watford fans everywhere will certainly be feeling the love tonight...
