The headbutt that broke Thiago Motta’s nose has cost a Bastia player six months on the sidelines.

Brandao, 34, has been sitting out since the Aug. 22 incident and is now ineligible to return for his French club until Feb. 22.

The Brazilian striker waited for Motta in the tunnel after Bastia’s 2-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain, then advancing toward the Italy defender before headbutting him. At the time, PSG’s president called for a lifetime ban.

You can watch the video of the ‘premeditated’ act below. Six months is fairly understandable, no?

Brandao came to Bastia after three seasons at Saint-Etienne, where he scored 16 goals. He also most notably spent time at Marseille and Shakhtar Donetsk.

Motta has returned for PSG.
