It was Benteke’s first appearance for the Reds, and he might have a hard time scoring a prettier goal than he did this afternoon at the County Ground.
Just after halftime Benteke opened his Liverpool career with an absolute stunner, using his chest to control before turning and smashing a volley into the top corner.

Benteke’s strike was so impressive, he even got some love from Anfield legend Ian Rush, who is Liverpool’s all-time leading scorer with 346 goals to his name.
Great to see #Benteke off the mark today! Nice start @LFC 👏

Brazilian midfielder Roberto Firmino also made his Liverpool debut today, with both Firmino and Benteke playing 67 minutes as they prepare for the start of the Premier League next weekend.
