Chelsea vs West Ham live! Score, updates, how to watch, stream

Joe Prince-Wright, Andy Edwards and Nick Mendola examine the state of the razor-thin race for the top four between Arsenal and Tottenham and make their predictions over who will claim the final Champions League berth.

Chelsea vs West Ham: The Blues will be in desperate need of a stabilizing result against formidable opposition when the Hammers visit Stamford Bridge on Sunday (Watch live at 9 am ET, on USA Network and online via

Though they are still heavy favorites to finish 3rd in the Premier League this season, the negative appear to outweigh the positives at Chelsea these days. It’s been three months since the Blues beat a side presently in the top half of the PL table (Jan. 23), with heavy defeats to Brentford and Arsenal making for unhappy times ahead of Sunday’s London derby. Quick, aggressive counter-attacking football gave Thomas Tuchel’s side fits in each defeat, as younger, more athletic opposing attackers exploited space behind the full backs and scored four goals in each game as a result.

West Ham, meanwhile, haven’t won back-to-back Premier League games in over three months (Jan. 1 and 12), a run which goes back 12 games. That is, in part, due to the Hammers’ progression to the UEFA Europa League semifinals, which played its part in West Ham falling away from the top-four race.

Chelsea vs West Ham live analysis! - By Joe Prince-Wright

GOALLL! Christian Pulisic. The sub has won it. The Bridge goes wild.

PENALTY to Chelsea! Jorginho missed it. He slots it straight at Fabianski.

Lukaku flies in at the near post but his header flicks off Dawson and goes wide.

Pulisic, Lukaku and Ziyech on for Chelsea. All-out attack for Tuchel’s boys.

The ball drops to Werner in the box but he hits his effort straight at Fabianski. He was leaning back.

SAVE! Edouard Mendy with two big stops to deny Yarmolenko. Chelsea are making so many defensive mistakes. West Ham have not made the most of these big chances. At the other end Werner slams a shot just wide after Mount’s effort was blocked.

Already much livelier here in the second half at Stamford Bridge. Craig Dawson blocked Werner’s shot brilliantly, then Yarmolenko tees up Soucek at the other end but his effort was well blocked. Then Fabianski saves Kante’s deflected shot.

Back underway in the second half here at the Bridge. Cue plenty of moans and groans as Chelsea struggle to get going.

HALF TIME: Chelsea 0-0 West Ham here at the Bridge. Not a lot to report. Hammers holding firm. Blues not creating a lot.

CLOSE! Andriy Yarmolenko flashes a shot wide after clever play from West Ham in the build-up. Looked like he just stayed onside. Big chance for the Hammers.

It is the away end making all of the noise here. West Ham are a threat on the break and are working so hard. These players are playing for a place in the Europa League semifinal team.

KICK OFF: Slow start here at Stamford Bridge. West Ham are holding their own, while Chelsea have yet to get going.

It is a lovely sunny spring day at Stamford Bridge! Who will have a spring in their step after this?

Chelsea have made plenty of defensive changes and they need to improve at the back. West Ham have made plenty of chances as they prioritize their Europa League semifinal against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday. On paper, this should be an easy home win…
