Javier Hernandez’s quest to build on his blistering Bundesliga debut is going to have to wait a bit.

Hernandez, 28, broke his hand falling down stairs, and surely Bayer Leverkusen will be asking a certain landlord to invest in better railings.

El Tri star “Chicharito” scored 26 goals last year for Bayer, including 17 in 28 Bundesliga matches and five in European competition.

The 86-times capped Mexican striker added a pair of goals in eight appearances for El Tri.

From Bundesliga.com/en:

The Mexican, who top-scored for Die Werkself in 2016/17 with 17 league goals, fell down the stairs in his apartment, breaking a metacarpal bone in his right hand. He was operated on at a hospital in Merheim, and is expected to be available for action in two weeks’ time.

Tough blow for Hernandez and his club. Looking forward to seeing him back on the pitch come Match Day 3.
