Ranieri praises Leicester’s character after another comeback victory

Leicester City did it again, coming from behind to earn a win at West Bromwich as the Foxes now sit third on the Premier League table.

Coming out of the break down 1-0, Leicester scored three second-half goals against a West Brom side that is hard to break down at home.

The win gives Leicester ten points from losing positions, the most in the league. With 22 points on the year, that means nearly half of the Foxes’ points have come after falling behind.

Manager Claudio Ranieri praised his sides’ character after the match, saying his players always fight to the end.

We want to fight until the end.

We got back because we have very strong character, and also, we play good football.

This moment for us was very important. [At halftime] I told my players you are playing very well, continue this way. It’s important to move the ball quickly and try to put them under pressure, and we did that well.

Ranieri’s halftime speeches are clearly working, as 15 of the last 17 goals from Leicester have come in the second half. With 23 total goals on the season, only Manchester City has scored more.

One of the preseason favorites to get relegated, even Ranieri had to admit that he didn’t expect the team to be playing so well. However, he said he is not getting too excited about sitting third on the table in October, knowing it matters more where they sit in May.
