Antonio Conte has called the Premier League and English football “very attractive” while remaining relatively non-committal on what his future holds when it comes to Chelsea.

At times, he may’ve even seemed a bit coy.

Conte, 46, has been tipped to take over at Stamford Bridge after his reign running the Italian national team ends after Euro 2016.

And on Monday, with Italy preparing for friendlies against Spain and Germany, he was obviously going to be asked about potential life in London.

One thing’s for sure: he hates being “in the garage” for the weeks of inactivity between national team matches, and is going back to club football.

From The Independent:

“Chelsea? It’s not a taboo for me, but I could talk about Italian teams too,” Conte said at the press conference.

“At the moment my thoughts and my pain are reserved for a choice [leaving the national team] that is not superficial and without heartache. I’ve taken the choice, and now we’ll see what the future holds, if there’s something beautiful in Italy or abroad. These choices are never taken lightly.”

...

“English football is definitely very attractive at the moment for players and coaches, not least because it’s a very interesting league from many points of view.”

It seems a poorly-kept secret that Conte will go to Chelsea, with Arturo Vidal hinting at a reunion with his old Juventus coach when quizzed on the potential move.
