Chelsea have been linked with a shock move for Reading center back Michael Hector. Sky Sports claim that Jose Mourinho is lining up a $7 million move for the Jamaican international. ProSoccerTalk has contacted a source close to the deal and it seems to have taken everyone by surprise. Watch this space.

Tottenham Hotspur have not given up on signing Saido Berahino from West Bromwich Albion. Spurs have already had two bids turned down by the Baggies for Berahino and the player has had a transfer request turned down by the Midlands club. West Brom are adamant he is going nowhere but several outlets, plus former Spurs boss and Deadline Day devotee Harry Redknapp, believe that the 22-year-old England striker could still arrive at White Hart Lane in a deal worth over $40 million.

ProSoccerTalk understands that Jonathan Walters is wanted by Norwich City, Leicester City and West Brom, with the Stoke City forward handing in a transfer request with the Potters as he only has one-year left on his current contract and negotiations over a new deal have broken down in recent days. Walters, 31, has scored 51 goals in 217 PL games for the Potters and would be a valuable addition to the three aforementioned teams.

PST also understands that Southampton is closing in on a $17.6 million move for Celtic’s center back Virgil van Dijk. The Dutchman, 24, has interested Saints for quite some time and his panache on the ball and power in defense is exactly what Ronald Koeman is looking for.

West Bromwich Albion have been linked with moves for Liverpool left back Jose Enrique and Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley.

One man departing West Brom is Joleon Lescott, as the former Manchester City defender looks to be inching closer to a move to Aston Villa and has had a medical with the West Brom’s Midlands rivals.

Leicester City are said to be closing in on a season-long loan deal for Swansea City winger Nathan Dyer. The Englishman has fallen way down the pecking order at the Liberty Stadium and Leicester are keen to bolster their attacking options before the deadline.
