Jurgen Klinsmann’s back is against the wall in a way it’s never been before — at least during his five-year reign as head coach of the U.S. national team.

When the USMNT takes on Costa Rica at Soldier Field tonight (8 p.m. ET), their 2016 Copa America Centenario lives will be, for all intents and purposes, on the line. Following a disastrous showing against Colombia in the tournament opener on Friday — by which Klinsmann said he was “very pleased” — the Yanks are the only side without a point in Group A play.
