Real Madrid 6-0 Espanyol

Zinedine Zidane remains unbeaten as manager of Real Madrid after a 6-0 thrashing over Espanyol. Real jumped out to a 4-0 halftime lead with goals from Karim Benzema, James Rodriguez, and a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo would complete his hat-trick in the 82nd minute, as he is now tied with Luis Suarez as La Liga’s top scorer with 19 on the season. In Zidane’s four matches in charge at the Bernabeu, Real has outscored their opposition 17-2.

Valencia 0-1 Sporting Gijon

Through eight matches in charge at Valencia, Gary Neville is still without a win in La Liga play. On Sunday, Valencia fell 1-0 to newly-promoted Sporting Gijon, who climb out of the relegation zone with the win. The only goal of the match came in the 50th minute through an Antonio Sanabria penalty, his fourth goal in two games. Valencia has yet to hold a lead in any of Neville’s eight La Liga matches, and the loss to Sporting was the club’s first home defeat in league play since 2014.

Sevilla 3-1 Levante

Sevilla move up to fifth on the table after a comfortable 3-1 win over last-place Levante. Sevilla got off to a quick start when Kevin Gameiro scored in the opening minute, with Vicente Iborra and Yevhen Konoplyanka also finding the back of the net. The only bright spot for Levante was that Giuseppe Rossi scored his first goal for the club since joining on loan last week. Sevilla are now unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions, with seven wins and one draw over that run.
