Divock Origi, Mamadou Sakho, Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge led Liverpool as the Reds ran riot in a 3-0 Merseyside Derby win over Everton on Wednesday at Anfield.
Ramiro Funes Mori’s 50th minute red card came with Liverpool leading 2-0, and condemned Everton to 10 men. His horror tackle on Origi sent the striker into the seats.
It was the 21st red card in Merseyside Derby history, the most between any two teams in Premier League history.
Liverpool is in 7th with 54 points, and has a match-in-hand on West Ham and Manchester United. Everton sits in a three-way tie for 11th with 41 points.

Lucas Leiva had a dig from 20 yards that Joel Robles parried, and Liverpool kept pressing. Adam Lallana headed wide off a Nathaniel Clyne cross, one of several chances for the English midfielder.
The hosts took all the life out of the Toffees in the last five minutes of half. First Origi headed home before Sakho did the same in the second minute of stoppage.

Any hopes Everton held of a comeback were thwarted by Funes Mori’s terrible tackle on Origi. The defender came down hard on the forward’s ankle.
A horrible giveaway from John Stones sprung Lucas Leiva toward Liverpool’s third goal, with Daniel Sturridge converting from a high-percentage place after a run through the Toffee’s back line.
Then Joe Allen played a fantastic ball to Coutinho that the diminutive Brazilian curled around Robles to make it 4-0.
