It only took nine weeks of the 2015 season to select our first repeat winner as Major League Soccer Player of the Week. FC Dallas forward Fabian Castillo won the award just two weeks ago, and he’s done it again this week after torching the Houston Dynamo on Friday night.

Castillo played 86 minutes in the first of three Texas Derby clashes this season, scoring a goal and setting up two more in FCD’s 4-1 thumping of the Dynamo.

Castillo’s game has evolved considerably since the halfway point of the 2014 season, to the point he’s beginning to take over MLS games in much the same way a certain Mr. Donovan had done the last decade.

Castillo’s goal (above video), which completed the scoring on the night, is easily the greatest improvement to his overall game, as in the past he could be easily taken out of a game by simply keeping him in front of you in one-on-one situations. Castillo must be defended from a tighter proximity these days, and just look at how quickly that can go bad (below video).
