We may never see another night like this in MLS, ever again. As stated in the headline, there were 20 goals scored in four games on Saturday night. Yes, an average of 5 goals per game over an entire night.

Upon starting my shift here at PST this afternoon (I feel as if I have aged about six years since punching the clock), I had a look at tonight’s MLS schedule, saw how light it was and thought to myself, mistakenly, “This is going to be an easy night.” Wrong, Andy. So, so wrong.
Houston Dynamo 4-4 Sporting Kansas City
Sporting KC conceded three goals from set pieces and allowed an absolute howler from nearly 30 yards out. Meanwhile, the Dynamo were victimized be a (probably) really bad red card and penalty kick award and a moment of stunning magic from Benny Feilhaber.
It’ll probably go down as the Game of the Year in MLS, which means it’s easily worth the 10 or so minutes it’ll take you to watch the highlights again and again. FULL RECAP WITH HIGHLIGHTS
Columbus Crew SC 4-1 Philadelphia Union
Between last week’s thumping of Orlando City SC and this week’s demolishing of the Union, we now know (some of us knew before the season even began) that Columbus Crew SC are for real-for real. Trying to stop these guys is the very definition of “pick your poison.”
This week it was Ethan Finlay and Kei Kamra who did the business, next week it’ll be Federico Higuain and Justin Meram. And the defense is about as rock-solid as you’ll find in MLS. We’ll see you in late-November, Crew SC. | FULL RECAP WITH HIGHLIGHTS

New England Revolution 4-0 Real Salt Lake
First things first, it was an injury- and national-team-call-up-riddled RSL squad (only four field players on the bench) that took this hiding in Foxborough, but it’s still an incredibly impressive result for the Revolution, who are finally purring along like everyone expected at the start of the season.
Juan Agudelo continues to make the difference for New England, while Charlie Davies’ career renaissance just seems to go on and on and on. Should Andrew Farrell ever settle into the center back position, look out. We’ll also see you at the tail end of the 11th month of the year, Revs. | FULL RECAP WITH HIGHLIGHTS
Vancouver Whitecaps 1-2 D.C. United
What a huge road victory for a shorthanded (five-man bench) D.C. United squad after traveling 3,000 miles across North America. Oh, and the Whitecaps were the hottest team in the league coming in this one. An impressive victory on so many levels.
Throw in the fact that Vancouver had a lead after 70 seconds, and it has to be considered one of the best results by any team this season. | FULL RECAP WITH HIGHLIGHTS
