Montreal winning? OK, that’s crazy enough, but how about Montreal scoring four goals? And doing it against Real Salt Lake? Portland getting throttled in Houston? Vancouver being blanked at home?
Saturday night was anything but routine.
Vancouver Whitecaps 0-2 Seattle Sounders
No Obafemi Martins? No problem for the Sounders, because they’ve got Clint Demp Chad Barrett. Yes, Chad Barrett was the hero of the day for the Oba-less Sounders, scoring a pair of classy goals in the first half.
With the win, Seattle (19 points) moves to third in the Western Conference, a single point of the Caps’ pace in second, but with two games in hand.| FULL RECAP WITH HIGHLIGHTS
New England Revolution 1-1 Toronto FC
A pair of U.S. national team stars, Juan Agudelo and Michael Bradley, traded goals for the Revolution and Toronto FC, respectively, as the two sides drew 1-1 at Gillette Stadium. Agudelo headed home from close range, while Bradley made a mazy dribble through the heart of the Revs’ midfield, past four defenders and finished from a tight angle.
The Revs (19 points) currently sit second in the Eastern Conference, two behind D.C. United, and nine ahead of fifth-placed TFC. | FULL RECAP WITH HIGHLIGHTS

Montreal Impact 4-1 Real Salt Lake
The Impact only win in the Champions League yada yada yada. Try telling that to the Impact, or Real Salt Lake, the latter of whom shipped four goals to the hapless Impact on Saturday night.
Andres Romero bagged a brace for L’Impact, while Laurent Ciman and Dilly Duka rounded out the scoring, which nearly doubled the side’s goal output for the entire season beforehand (5 in 5 games). After 29 minutes, the score was 3-0 Impact. Devon Sandoval scored RSL’s only goal of the game just after halftime. | FULL HIGHLIGHTS
Houston Dynamo 3-1 Portland Timbers
Will Bruin scored twice, to go along with Giles Barnes’ sixth goal of the season, completing the Dynamo’s 3-1 thumping of the Timbers at BBVA Compass Stadium. Fanendo Adi score the visitors’ only goal (assisted by Diego Valeri).
At the end of Saturday night, the Dynamo (16 points) sit fifth in the Western Conference, while the Timbers (13) remain in ninth, just three points ahead of last-placed Colorado. | FULL HIGHLIGHTS
San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 Columbus Crew SC
Chris Wondolowski’s 99th career goal proved to be the winner for the Earthquakes, who suddenly find themselves sitting high upon the clouds of the Western Conference (fourth place). Shea Salinas added the insurance goal as the Quakes knocked off a 10-man Crew SC (Mohammed Saeid, second yellow card in 33rd minute).
Crew SC are yet to win a game away from home in 2015.
