There all’s kinds of transfer news / speculation / guesswork / comment emanating from BBVA Compass Stadium. (Man, Robertson Stadium was never this busy with such in-and-out player activity. That new stadium really is something else!)
So, let’s sum up:
- One who may be going
Center back Geoff Cameron may be on his way to England. As long as he can be the April-May Cameron, and not the seemingly distracted June Cameron, he’ll be fine. The Houston Chronicle says Stoke City has submitted a bid, while Everton and one other Premier League club keeps kicking the tires. Dynamo president Chris Canetti has confirmed the overseas interest.
- One who MIGHT be coming (It’s a big “might”)
I’m pretty good friends with Mo Johnston and he brought up Sone’s name to me. I had a close look at Sone and was impressed. If he is free and available, we’d really like to bring him to Houston.
“There will be other clubs looking at Sone but we’ll be professional and wait until we get word he’s free.”- One who is definitely en route
Meanwhile, we’re all awaiting word on the possible debut of Honduran international Oscar Boniek Garcia, who signed as the Dynamo’s new DP midfielder earlier this month. Technically speaking, he’s available this weekend for the Dynamo’s date with Philadelphia at BBVA, since the transfer window opens Wednesday. That’s pending the always tricky visa acquisition and whatever team indoctrination period Kinnear sees fit.
We’ll see, but I am hearing Boniek Garcia might even get to train with the team this week, and could possibly be in uniform Saturday.
