The way Rafa Benitez is retooling Newcastle United, owner Mike Ashley might like to see a big sale replenish the funds used to bring in players like Matt Ritchie, Jesus Gamez, Dwight Gayle, Matz Sels and Isaac Hayden.

A $45 million player sale sure would count for that, and Sky Sports reports that’s the price tag slapped on Moussa Sissoko by the Northeast club.

Arsenal has been long linked with Sissoko, who starred for France at the recently concluded EURO 2016. Liverpool and Spurs have also been linked with the midfielder.

Sissoko has said that being in the Championship just won’t do, and many Newcastle fans would be happy to see him sold at such a high price. His mercurial production was maddening at times, as he seemed to turn it up for high-profile games.
