Everton has been relatively quiet this transfer window, but the Toffees are ready to pay $19 million for Senegalese striker Oumar Niasse.

Niasse arrived at Everton on Monday morning to undergo a medical, and the deal is expected to go through before tonight’s deadline.

Last season, Niasse was named the Russian Premier League’s Player of the Year at Lokomotiv Moscow. This season, he already has 12 goals and 10 assists in 21 matches.

At 25-years-old, Niasse is a strong, pacy player who can play as a striker or out wide on the wing. Heralded for his work-rate, he will bring even more energy to an Everton side that loves to fly forward.

Niasse is a good signing to give support to Romelu Lukaku, as the Senegalese international can score goals should Lukaku’s form fall off. However, if Everton wants to climb back into the top-half of the table, it is their defensive play that needs improving, not their attack.
