Manchester City are not out of the title race, not by a long shot, claimed Manuel Pellegrini following his side’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal on Monday.

The way Pellegrini sees it, there are still a ton of points to play for — 63, to be exact — before the PL title will be awarded in late May. It wouldn’t be the first time Man City have come back to win the title under Pellegrini — the Blues only took the league lead for good in the 36th (of 38) week of the 2013-14 season.
Speaking in his post-game television interview (above video), Pellegrini was quick to point out the positives for Man City, who he still firmly believes are title contenders, despite a side with five league losses before Christmas (City now have five losses this season) having never won the PL title.
Pellegrini, on whether or not City still have title hopes:“You must win these important games. It was important for Sergio to return to the team, maybe he needs a couple of games to return to his performances but it was important to have him back. There are 63 more points to win, a lot of games and the way we played in the second half shows that we will continue to fight for the title.”
