Below are recaps, reaction, analysis and videos from a busy day in the PL
Arsenal 4-1 Newcastle United - RECAP

Two goals each from Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla meant the Gunners bounced back from a shock defeat last weekend. Newcastle wee outclassed as Ayoze Perez got what turned out to be nothing more than consolation.

Burnley 1-0 Southampton - RECAP

Four defeats on the spin for Southampton as Dusan Tadic had a penalty saved by Tom Heaton and Ashley Barnes scored late on to hand the Clarets all three points.

Chelsea 2-0 Hull City - RECAP

Jose Mourinho remain top of the table and have won all eight home games so far this season. Eden Hazard scored the first and set upt he second for Diego Costa, as Hull were reduced to 10-men but had plenty of complaints about referee Chris Foy.

Leicester City 0-1 Manchester City - RECAP

Frank Lampard came up big again as the Citizens remain just three points behind Chelsea in the race for the title. However injuries to Edin Dzeko and Vincent Kompany will not be music to Manuel Pellegrini’s ears.

Crystal Palace 1-1 Stoke City - RECAP

A lively first half at Selhurst saw Palace take the lead through James McArthur, but Peter Crouch equalized 93 seconds later. Honors even.

West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Aston Villa - RECAP

The Baggies grabbed a much-needed win, their first in six, as Craig Gardner scored the game’s only goal. Kieran Richardson was sent off for Villa.

Sunderland 1-1 West Ham United - RECAP

A 10th draw of the season for Sunderland, who went ahead via Jordi Gomez’s penalty kick but the Hammers equalized through Stewart Downing. And poor old Jozy Altidore. The USMNT striker started but missed an absolute sitter.
