Chelsea 2-0 Newcastle United - RECAP
Goals from Oscar and Diego Costa did the damage as Chelsea stay top. But Newcastle were very lively and made the Blues work hard.
Everton 1-1 Manchester City - RECAP
A real battle at Goodison, as City took the lead in the 74th minute via Fernandinho but Steven Naismith equalized to share the spoils.
Crystal Palace 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur - RECAP
Dream start for Alan Pardew. Palace went 1-0 down as Harry Kane scored for Spurs, but a penalty from Dwight Gayle and then a stunner from Jason Puncheon turned things around. The Eagles have take off.
Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool - RECAP
Not a classic at the Stadium of Light, but an early goal from Lazar Markovic was enough for the Reds to move withing four points of the top four. Blustery conditions and a red card early in the second half made it a struggle for Sunderland.
Burnley 2-1 QPR - RECAP
A relegation six-pointer at Turf Moor, as the home side prevailed thanks to first half goals from Scott Arfield and Danny Ings. Charlie Austin had equalized for QPR against his old club, but the R’s were poor at the back as they set a new PL record for losing all 10 of their away matches so far. Ouch.
West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Hull City - RECAP
Huge win for the Baggies in Tony Pulis’ first PL home game in charge. Saido Berahino scored again to hand his side all three points, while Hull are in a real relegation scrap.
Leicester City 1-0 Aston Villa - RECAP
There was a big win for Leicester at home too, as the Foxes are still bottom but are just two points from safety after Paul Konchesky drilled home a beauty to drag Villa into the mire.
Swansea City 1-1 West Ham United - RECAP
Andy Carroll’s stunner was canceled out by Bafetimbi Gomis at the Liberty Stadium. Midtable mediocrity beckons for these two. I think they are just fine with that.
