With three big names on the docket, it’s the fourth club which is facing the most desperate situation on Sunday in the Premier League.

Anything but a win dooms QPR in the race for Premier League survival, and the R’s have a daunting trip to the Etihad Stadium to kick off Sunday’s doubleheader on CNBC and NBCSN.

Manchester City vs. Queens Park Rangers — 8:30 a.m. ET on CNBC and Extra Time

Chris Ramsey’s Londoners need a win in a bad way, opening the day with the knowledge that it’ll take an unbeaten run and a pair of losses from either Newcastle or Sunderland to ensure their stay in the Premier League. Up first is City, which is in need of a single point to clinch a UEFA Champions League slot.

Will Manuel Pellegrini and his charges be distracted by reports that Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola is headed for the Etihad? Will that even matter? This is why we watch.

Chelsea vs. Liverpool — 11 a.m. ET on NBCSN and Extra Time

Jose Mourinho said the Blues want to end their championship season in fitting fashion, with a dominant run of wins. And Chelsea can make its coronation run feel extra nice by ending the UEFA Champions League hopes of Liverpool. With Manchester United beating Crystal Palace on Saturday, only wins will work for the Reds.

Will the ghost of Steven Gerrard’s slip haunt this fixture? Unlikely, especially considering Demba Ba is off in Turkey.
