Big league crush little league today in UEFA Champions League. Road teams from Spain and England took leads out of their first legs in Cyprus and Portugal.

Real Madrid smacked hardest, though it took over an hour for them to get on the board. When they did, the underdogs were overwhelmed, with APOEL conceding three times before the final whistle:

In Lisbon, Chelsea’s revival continued, taking a 1-0 win out of the Estadio de Luz in what can only be considered a huge missed opportunity for the two-time champions.

As you can see, highlights are courtesy of the good folks at FOX Soccer ... Sure is nice to see Fernando Torres may have snapped-out of his year-long funk.

Second legs are net week. Tomorrow’s action: Milan hosts Barcelona while Bayern Munich visits Marseille.
