Ahead of Real Madrid’s friendly against the LA Galaxy next Thursday, new manager Carlo Ancelotti has already begun gushing about the quality of the MLS side.

“The Galaxy is a good team,” Ancelotti said. “I have seen them play, it’s a good team, they’re experienced. And so, of course, they don’t have David Beckham, they lost something but continue to be a good team.”

When prompted about Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan, the Italian added, “They [have] good experience, they are fantastic players. The fact that they [have played] in Europe means that they proved their experience.”

The Galaxy will take on Cristiano Ronaldo and company in a first-round matchup of the International Champions Cup. The first round will take place in Glendale, AZ with Everton and Juventus also taking part. The final will be in Miami.

Ancelotti told the media and fans that despite the managerial change at Madrid, there won’t me much of a change on the pitch.

“Of course, it may change a little bit, but this team already has its players and style,” he said. “We will look to play an offensive brand of soccer, which is normal for the team, and look to do the best as possible.”
