Now mid-November, the rumor mill has opened ahead of the January transfer window.

In some of the latest gossip from German news outlet Bild, Liverpool is reportedly targeting Schalke’s Leroy Sane.

The 19-year-old is highly rated as one of the best young talents in Europe, and has already scored nine goals in 18 appearances for Schalke this season.

Sane earned his first call-up to the German national team this month, and made his senior debut off the bench against France earlier this week.

German national team manager Joachim Low had much praise for the teenager, saying he has a “special gift.”

He has a special gift and finesse, speed paired with technique and strong running.
Leroy [is] incredibly good [at] running into space and, with his speed, he has acquired this very well.

It was reported over the summer that Liverpool had made a bid for Sane, but Schalke’s director said the offer was not good enough.

However, with Jurgen Klopp now in charge, it is believed the Reds could have a better chance of bringing the German teen to Anfield.

At 19, Sane already has some big-match experience, highlighted by a brilliant performance at Real Madrid in the Champions League last season, where he grabbed a goal and assist off the bench.
