- United beat Swans for third time in all comps
- Lukaku opens scoring
- Sanchez with goal, assist
Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez scored first half goals as Manchester United saw off Swansea City 2-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Swans were better in the second half, but Jose Mourinho got the better of his Portuguese peer Carlos Carvalhal and moved United back above Liverpool before next week’s Manchester Derby.
The visitors are three points ahead of 18th place Southampton.

The hosts went ahead within 300 seconds, as Jesse Lingard slipped Alexis Sanchez into the box and the Chilean found Lukaku for a bounding finish beyond the reach of Lukasz Fabianski.
The keeper would be called upon for a fine save on Lukaku five minutes later, and then got low to collect a Lingard effort in the 11th.
Sanchez got on the board when he beat the offside trap to meet a partially deflected Lingard pass. 2-0.
David De Gea made a fine two-handed save on Tammy Abraham at the hour mark, giving Swans a corner kick which led to nothing. It was Abraham’s second effort of the half.
