The only man to have played every single second of Southampton’s 2014-15 Premier League season is out.

Goalkeeper Fraser Forster looks likely to spend a lengthy spell on the sidelines after an innocuous looking slip in his own penalty box after nine minutes of Southampton’s home match against Burnley.

In the ninth minute Ryan Bertrand played the ball back to Forster, 27, and the 6 foot 7 inch ‘keeper slipped under pressure as he cleared the ball.

Forster immediately signaled to the bench that he needed to come off and after lengthy treatment, Kelvin Davis came on to replace him. Forster had his left knee strapped as he was stretchered off the pitch as the ‘keeper for the PL’s best defense left the match.

The England international has kept the most clean sheets this season in the Premier League and put in a fine display to secure a 1-1 draw for Saints at Chelsea last week.

Many believe Forster is pushing Joe Hart all the way for the England jersey, but it seems as though his season may well be over.
