With his ongoing contract negotiations causing plenty of headlines, Steven Gerrard has been assured one thing: he will always be able to call Liverpool Football Club home.
Gerrard, 34, has been offered a new contract by Liverpool after previously stating he would consider playing elsewhere next season, as his current deal only runs until the end of the 2014-15 campaign.

Liverpool’s captain has spent his entire career at Anfield but was moved into a deeper role last season by manager Brendan Rodgers as his marauding forward runs became less frequent. This season Gerrard has been rested on the bench for several games as the Reds juggle games domestically and in Europe, with many pundits and fans believing Gerard’s powers could be wavering.
However Liverpool’s chief executive Ian Ayre was asked about Gerrard’s contract situation on Thursday, as the club confirmed Anfield will be expanded, and seemed pretty confident their main man will be around for quite some time.

Gerrard has recently moved to cool reports that he has fallen out with his manager after being rested against Stoke City, as he then scored the go-ahead goal against Leicester City in the Reds’ 3-1 win on Tuesday.
He has shown his quality once again this season, either off the bench or from the start, and it certainly seems like he’s worthy of at least another two-year deal at his hometown club. At least. As the club have confirmed, there is an offer on the table to extend his playing days at Anfield.
Steven, the ball is now in your court.
