Swansea City and Newcastle played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
The Swans led twice through Wilfried Bony and Wayne Routledge but Papiss Cisse equalized twice and Newcastle pushed for a winner late in the game.
Alan Pardew’s side are still without a win but dug deep to thwart the Swans in South Wales. Swansea sit fourth on 11 points, while Newcastle are 18th with four points from seven games.

After an even start at the Liberty Stadium, the home side took the lead after a wonderful interchange between Bony and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The Ivorian striker was played through and made no mistake by calmly slotting the ball past Tim Krul to put the Swans 1-0 up after 17 minutes.
Following that goal Newcastle failed to get going again in the first half and Ki should have really doubled Swansea’s lead but the Korean midfielder headed wide at the back post when the Swans had three men spare to tap home.

Swansea were made to rue that missed chance as just before the break Cisse popped up to equalize for Newcastle with a tidy finish at the near post. 1-1 and Newcastle were back in business.

Just after the break Swansea went back in front as Routledge scored against his former club following a through ball from Sigurdsson. The Icelandic international muscled Sissoko off the ball and played in Routledge to dink home and put Swansea 2-1 up. Newcastle were all over the place as Sigurdsson and Bony again combined but the latter struck his shot over the bar with the Swans rampant in attack.

Newcastle threw on Sammy Ameobi late in the game and he set up Cisse perfectly for his and the Magpies’ second goal of the game as it was all square with the final 15 minutes to go.
Late on Riviere went close for Newcastle, while both Shelvey and Emnes could have grabbed all three points for the Swans but a draw played out at the Liberty Stadium.
