A total of 10 clubs have been punished for breaking UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules, and seven of them will be forced to play with smaller rosters in their next season of European competition.
AS Roma, Inter Milan and AS Monaco are among the seven who will have to contend with roster restrictions moving forward, though Inter may not even qualify for Europe this season.

Besiktas, Krasnodar, Lokomotiv Moscow and Sporting Lisbon are the other clubs to see their rosters trimmed to 22, while CSKA Sofia, Kardemir Karabukspor and Rostov have only been hit with money problems.
Of those hit with roster bans, Lisbon had the lowest fine with around $2 million to pay, while Inter was hit the worst. The Serie A club faces $22 million in fines. Here’s the full report.
As long as the riches of European football await, it’s hard to imagine the majority of these fines are going to make a major difference in how clubs operate moving forward. After all, the dream is to win the UEFA Champions League, keeping your domestic foes at bay, and that still pays close to $17 million on its own.
